About Moleplow

The end of the pipe or cable is fed through the blade, which is 75mm or 3 inches in width.

The chain trencher opens up the start of the trench to the required depth, which can be up to 900mm, and the end of the pipe is rolled up at ground level to give sufficient length for jointing and installation.
The plough blade is dropped in the trench to the required depth with the wheels on the ground and the vibrator above. The end of the pipe is taken from ground level to the bottom of the trench and the coil is then fed through the plough blade as the machine is driven forward.

The trench cut by the mole plough is just over 75mm / 3 inches wide and the pipe or cable is laid at the bottom of this very narrow trench.

When the run of pipe or cable laying is completed the pipe is brought to the surface where once again a surplus is left before cutting off to allow for jointing etc.,

The tractor wheel is driven along the trench line to consolidate and close the narrow gap in the soil. The work is done with the minimum disturbance to the ground and little or no wheel marks.
